I have thoroughly enjoyed the Graduate course! I have learnt all that I wanted to learn and now feel confident using all the programmes on Microsoft Office 2007. I have also discovered a lot about what I would like to do, with regards to my future career. I now can’t wait to get into a job and start using all that I have learnt on the course. I felt that the support I received from the tutors was excellent and have made some really good friends with everyone on my course, thank you!
Carole - Graduate course
I loved doing the PA Diploma course, not only did I make great friends with the other girls on the course, but also with the teachers. I’ve learnt so many new skills from this course that I know will benefit me when I get a job in what I call the ‘real world’.
Flavia - PA
The Grad course has been really good fun and interesting. I have felt that the people have made getting a job reassuring because we are all in the same boat and encourage one another. I have felt so much more confident in applying for jobs which I would never even consider before this course. The IT skills have made me a whizz kid on a computer now and I love all the little shortcuts. Although some of my friends outside college think I am a bit of a geek now! Getting a job is now exciting and I cant wait to see where everyone will be after here.
Milly - Graduate course
I chose the Graduate course because I had become stuck in a rut since graduating and wanted to boost my employability. Before I came to Oxford Media and Business School, I never would have dreamed I would be able to do all the things I can do now ! Computers have ceased to intimidate me, I now feel confident in my knowledge of how the working world works and I can even write a great press release ! The course has really boosted my confidence in my skills...which is exactly what I wanted !
Audrina - Graduate course
I chose the course because it looked like it offered good skills and seemed to have a good reputation. I think the course has made me more confident and much more employable.
Orlanda - PA
I have loved loved loved doing this course! I was a little bit nervous before I started that I might have been one of the only students without much computer knowledge as I had come from doing a very creative degree. However, we were all in the same situation and the teaching made it so simple to understand and took us all right back to the beginning so at no point was anyone left behind.
We have all had so much fun together and as well as learning so much more than I thought we could have in such a short time I have made some great friends that I know I will stay in touch with.
I am so excited at some of the new job opportunities that are available to me now, and before the course has even finished I have a few interviews lined up which I wouldn’t have had stood a chance at before doing this course!
I have already recommended the course to friends and would to anyone else who wasn’t sure what to do next after finishing University. Thank you so so much to everyone at OMBS!!

Overall OMBS has been a great experience and I feel I have gained a lot from the course. I chose the course because I didn’t get the grades I needed for university, although I was disappointed at the time I am glad now that I came on the course because I don’t think 3 years at university would have suited me.

This course has benefited me by being able to use a computer in all aspects and not be scared by it. I can now go on to help people like my mum with her business.

Not going down the university route was the best decision I made. I have gained invaluable skills here that will no doubt serve me extremely well in whatever I do.

I completed my A levels eventually after taking a year out to go travelling and whilst everyone was talking of going to university and yet another three years of education, I felt myself loosing interest. I didn’t complete a UCAS application and every time someone asked me with a look of horror why I wasn’t going to University I would try and explain why I didn’t feel University was right for me.
The summer I completed my A levels I went on a working holiday in Portugal with some friends. Whilst over there I received a phone call from my mum raving about a business school in Oxford that ‘sounded perfect’ for me and would give me the skills and qualifications that I would need to go into the working world. As you could imagine, laying on a beach surrounded by sun and friends I was not particularly interested in even coming home, let alone coming home to study. However I told her to post me the prospectus anyway.
After reading the prospectus I realised that the people that took this course were people just like me. I feel young people are pressured into going to University because that is what you are told to do, the next step on the so called ladder. If you don’t go to University, people assume there is something wrong with you and that you will end up working in the local supermarket. The working world is changing however. Graduates are finding it harder and harder to get jobs as they do not have the necessary office or IT skills. OMBS has provided me with precious IT skills that most graduates do not have, knowledge of the work place and irreplaceable interview skills. They have also helped me create a first class CV that I am proud to show people.
The teachers and pupils at OMBS have become my lifeline and for someone who was convinced all she wanted to do was travel for the next five years they have opened my heart to a world full of new adventures and opportunities. I now feel that with the skills I have gained at OMBS I could go anywhere.

Being brought up in the big city of Hong Kong and going to boarding school in the UK since I was 8. It has never been a big thing for me being away from home. I have never been academic so I knew that my A levels weren’t going to be A’s or B’s but that didn’t bother me because whatever I did get I knew that I had tried my best. Going to Gordonstoun until I was 18 and then taking a gap year. I had some amazing experiences in Mozambique and doing a season in Meribel. This made me so much more independent and more confident in myself.
I knew when I went into 6th form at school I didn’t want to go to University but I still got told to apply and see where I got to. I got a place at Manchester College to do sports coaching but I cancelled my offer. The reason for this is because I knew I wouldn’t like it. The only thing I had in my mind and was determined to do was just sport. So I knew I had to find something that would give me the confidence and the knowledge to work in any environment. So looking around on the internet I found this course at OMBS. I knew that it looked great and I would fit in and know that I will have a job at the end of it. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I was luckily enough to have a good mate of mine from school do this course with me and we are living together and three others and having a great time. The course is great and the tutors treat you like adults and it’s like you’re in an office situation. This is a great stepping stone for going in to the working world. We all know it is going to be a tough time trying to find somewhere to work, but with the skills I have learnt here I know I will be high on the pile.
We all know that this course is a year long course and it is intense. But you have a great city to be in so there is plenty of time to play. Believe you me. So I’ve fallen in love with Oxford and I plan on staying here to work before moving to London or anywhere across the world for that matter.
Charlotte - PA
If I get this job it will have been because of the confidence the course gave me and I will always be grateful for that.

Gemma - Graduate
Thought I'd just write to say thank you so much for all the help you've given me in giving my gap year a kick start!
Jessica – Gap Year
I have learnt an enormous amount about all the different Microsoft Office packages as well as different aspects of e-marketing and data management that I would never have come across otherwise. The Personal Development aspect of the course has also been really useful for me in finding out more about myself and finding out the best work and learning environments for me. Even within such a short time I feel that I have learnt so much and gained so much confidence in myself that has been invaluable. I would recommend this course to anyone who feels they need that extra edge and confidence going out into the workplace.
Elisabet – Returner
