It’s not a cry for help but a long standing tradition in Oxford held every 1st May.
The event takes place on Magdalen Bridge at 6 am when the choir of Magdalen College sing from the Great Tower. The Hymnus Eucharisticus has been sung from the tower every year since the 17th Century. This year about 6,000 people gathered on the bridge and listened to the hymn.
Pubs and clubs stay open all night so there is lots of revelry. Needless to say our students got fully involved and a good time was had by all.
